I do love when a photograph catches my attention and then pushes and pulls at me until I finally pick up my paintbrush and pen. Even more thrilling, when the reaction from my creative and artist peers is such that I feel my interpretation was somehow able to do that photograph justice via paint and line.
Inspired by an evocative black and white photograph by the very talented, Thorn Button...I invite you to read the entire story here:)

I really like the contrast you achieve in this, as if the figure is creating a self-portrait and hasn't finished applying what will make who she'll be that day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way of seeing it! I love that, Maureen:)
DeleteLovely and sensous. Like quite a lot the contrast between the black/white light and the your colours. It results amazingly powerful and at the same time gentle and frail. Wonderful work Shell!
ReplyDeleteLove that it feels that way, to your eye, Miguel. Thank you:)
